If my test shows that I react to certain foods – will I be able to eat those foods again? Print

Foods that you react to should be avoided for a minimum of 3 to 6 months.  The foods that you have a slight reaction to should be rotated through your diet every 3 or 4 days (don't eat these foods every day – only eat them once or twice a week).  You can eat foods that show up as normal as long as these are foods that you actually tried before the test, and that you have not had a previous negative reaction to.  ‘No reaction' to a food you haven't eaten in a long time just means your body hasn't been exposed to the food, and therefore has not produced antibodies to it.  You should never eat a food that you have previously had a serious reaction to.

Whether or not you can eat these foods again depends on the reason for your reaction.  Sometimes food intolerances can be a consequence of other conditions like ‘leaky gut syndrome' or candida infections.  Ask our nutritionist about next steps when you call.  In some cases, you may want engage the services of a naturopathic doctor or nutritionist in your area.
