Will I have to shop at specialty stores to accomodate the changes in my diet? Print

No, most people do not need to shop at specialty stores to buy foods that avoid food intolerances.  Although there are many specialty bakeries and health food stores that carry specialty foods for certain food allergies and food intolerances (e.g. gluten/wheat free bread, etc.), more and more neighborhood grocery stores are also carrying such foods.  As with any healthy food plan you need to become label savvy and read labels. The law requires that Labels be put on all food items and contain a list of all of the ingredients contained in that food.
