Ghrelin Print

Ghrelin is a hormone released in the gut.   Ghrelin stimulates appetite and calms inflammation in tissue.  When food reactions cause inflammation in the lining of the gut, ghrelin may be released to reduce the inflammation.  Ghrelin release also triggers an increase in appetite, which can cause people to eat more of the food they react to.
